From the beginning in 2013 bckspace|eyewear is having the L.G.R. eyewear collection in stock. The Roman brand L.G.R. eyewear hit the headlines at the premiere of Mission Impossible 5 – Rogue Nation. Why? Because Tom wears them. Tom who? Tom Cruise aka Ethan Hunt! The superstar spotted the Comoros and the Tangeri and they look exceptionally good on him.Founder Luca Gnecchi Ruscone never asked for it and paid zilch for this great publicity. However they kindly told him to send 10 times 12 copies just in case they would break a few in the stunt scenes.

Apparently they’re quite durable given all the violence. Nevertheless, we assume that they have been very careful with these beautiful handmade eyeglasses and we actually believe that right after the shooting days everyone who matters in Hollywood was wearing L.G.R. shades on their noses.

L.G.R. Eyewear is a brand that is inspired on a trip to Africa by the founder of the company, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone. L.G.R. is entirely handmade in Italy by artisanal families, who build each frame from start to finish using traditional methods of production in order to deliver a resistant and long lasting product. L.G.R eyewear produces and uses its own tempered mineral glass lenses made out of mineral crystal. They offer 100% UV protection, 6 layers of interior anti-reflective coating, IR protection, oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings and are anti scratch and impact resistant. Today, only the finest Italian eyewear producers use cellulose acetate for their frames. The molecules are flexible, unlike the molecules of a synthetic plastic which are brittle.

This inherent flexibility is the greatest advantage of using cellulose acetate for eyewear and it is exactly this property that allows the frames to adapt to the wearer’s face over time.
